A few simple steps before the carrier arrives make the process smoother for everyone.
Carriers prefer a quarter tank or less — it reduces weight on the trailer and is standard industry practice.
Personal belongings are not covered by cargo insurance. Remove valuables and keep the interior clear for inspection.
Take photos of all four sides, the roof, and any pre-existing damage before the carrier arrives. This protects you at delivery.
Disable any aftermarket alarms that may trigger during transport. Remove or cover toll transponders to avoid unexpected charges.
You or an authorized representative must be available to inspect and sign the Bill of Lading at both pickup and delivery.
Let your coordinator know about any leaks, loose parts, or mechanical issues in advance so the carrier can prepare appropriately.
